1. Return eligibility
DriftLine Couriers is a freight forwarder — we transport packages on your behalf but we are not the seller of the goods you purchase. Whether an item can be returned is always governed by the merchant's own return policy (Amazon, SHEIN, eBay, etc.), not by DriftLine.
We can facilitate a return when all of the following are true:
- The merchant has approved the return and issued instructions or a label.
- The item is in our custody (US warehouse) or collected in original condition (Jamaica).
- The return window set by the merchant has not expired.
Items that are prohibited from carriage (see our Terms & Conditions) cannot be accepted for return transport in either direction.
2. Return labels & vendor policy
Most US merchants issue a prepaid return label once a return is approved. Forward that label to our support team (support@driftlinecouriers.com) along with your suite number and the package description, and we will match it to your cargo.
- Labels must be valid for drop-off or carrier pickup within the continental US.
- QR-code returns (e.g. Amazon dropoff) can be handled at our discretion — contact support first.
- Refunds for the goods themselves are always issued by the merchant to your original payment method. DriftLine never handles merchant refunds.
3. Inbound US warehouse returns
If your package is still at our Miami warehouse and has not yet shipped to Jamaica, returns are simple:
- Request the return from your dashboard or via support before the next flight cut-off.
- Provide the merchant's return label within 7 calendar days of the request.
- We apply the label and tender the package to the carrier. A warehouse handling fee applies (see Section 6).
Packages already manifested on a flight cannot be intercepted; they will continue to Jamaica and follow the outbound process below.
4. Outbound Jamaica returns
Once a package has arrived in Jamaica, returning it to a US merchant requires export shipping:
- Bring the item to our Clarendon hub in its original packaging with all accessories.
- We consolidate outbound returns on our weekly northbound freight.
- Outbound freight is charged at the current per-pound rate plus the return processing fee.
- Transit back to the merchant typically takes 7–14 business days after dispatch.
We strongly recommend confirming the merchant's return deadline before choosing an outbound return — many 30-day windows cannot accommodate round-trip island freight.
5. Customs & duty refunds
Customs duties and GCT are assessed by the Jamaica Customs Agency at import. If an item is returned after duties were paid:
- DriftLine's freight and processing fees are non-refundable once transport has occurred.
- Duty refund claims must be filed with the Jamaica Customs Agency; we will supply the import documentation you need.
- For packages returned from our US warehouse before export to Jamaica, no Jamaican duties apply.
6. DriftLine return fees
Our handling fees for facilitating returns:
- US warehouse return (label applied, carrier drop-off): US$5.00 per package.
- Repack or consolidation before return: US$3.00 additional.
- Outbound Jamaica return: standard per-pound freight + US$7.50 processing.
- Storage past 14 days awaiting a label: standard storage charges apply per our Terms.
Fees are payable at the Clarendon hub (cash or card) or deducted from any DriftLine account credit. Questions? Reach us at support@driftlinecouriers.com — we're happy to walk you through the fastest option before you commit.
